Sahara Hotnights

I don´t know why it´s so hard to find an only girl band that they make a good rock, so I will introduce you some of my only girl bands and female singers. The first one is Sahara Hotnights. They make a music closer to punk than rock. It´s quite simple but really intense. I hope you enjoy them. I´ve got tickets for their gig on 1st March during the Swedish Festival in Dublin!!

Cookies!!!

February 10th, 2008 by Cornflakegirl

english spanish

This weekend, we went to Warming party at Luy´s and Ociore´s home. I brought 2 loafs and 2 kind of cookies. As I´ve told, I´m going to write down the recipes.

Earl Grey tea cookies

Ingredients:
1 cup flour
¼ cup sugar
¼ cup caster sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon water
½ cup butter
1 tablespoon of Earle Grey tea

Preparation:
Preheat oven to 200º C. Pulse together until a dough is formed. Chill it until hard. In this moment you can freeze it. Then roll, shape them and bake for 12 minutes.

Changes:
I used green tea instead of Earl Grey tea.

Orange Cookies

Ingredients:
1 cup flour
¼ cup caster sugar
¼ teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon vanilla
1 teaspoon water
½ cup butter
¼ cup candy orange

Preparation
Preheat oven to 200º C. Pulse together until a dough is formed. Chill it until hard. In this moment you can freeze it. Then roll, shape them and bake for 12-15 minutes.

Changes:
I used less butter because it was up so I used 2 tablespoon olive oil. As the dough was sticky, I used more flour for drying it.

Jam thumbprint cookies

Ingredients:
1 and ¼ cup flour
3 and ½ tablespoons caster sugar
1 egg yolk

150 g
butter
3 tablespoons of raspberry jam for decorate

Preparation:
Preheat oven to 200º C. Pulse together until a dough is formed. Chill it until hard. In this moment you can freeze it. Then roll, shape them, in the middle of the cookie, press thumb geltly in the middle and put some jam; bake for 5-7 minutes.

Changes:
Don´t make the cookies too big because they will make bigger and look awful!

Mientras tanto dame la mano – Meanwhile take my hand

Mientras tanto dame la mano. Meanwhile take my hand
Kirmen Uribe. (English translator: Elizabeth Macklin)
Editorial Visor.
ISBN: 84 – 7522 – 548 – 9.

The first time I heard Kirme recited, was in America´s House in Madrid. I liked his naturalness, he looked like more like a confidant than a poet. I wanted to read more, to know his poetry, his images and this is the way that guided me to this book.

Unfortunately, this book is the only one trasnlated into Spanish by this prolific author. His poetry is close, silent and full of armonies, he talks about Bilbao and about Moscu as well, he talks about rivers, lives, trees and about the time. In special, he talks about the time that it is going by and we don´t realize it. He talks also about we say, about we don´t.

I leave you with these words:

There was news
Many letter arrived,
But not yours.
