This is Ireland
From now on, Ireland doesn´tt recognize any marriage done in consulates and I can´t find any reason for it (in any official website). So, our Embassy, we can´t never stop highly speaking of it, has cancelled our wedding. So, now we should consider other options to get married (in Spain and wait for 6 months, in Ireland and wait for 4 months, run away to Belfast, …).
I can´t get over my surprise. If someone knows the reason about this “reasonable” law, please let me know. We will keep you informed.

If it’s an IRish embassy, then it could be related to the great sell out of inner-city Irish embassies across the world.
My understanding is that Irish embassies that are located in city centres (usually capital cities) are being re-located outside to the suburbs where land and building is less expensive.
This means that the Irish Department of Finance (i.e. dept. = “ministry”) will reap a net cash benefit : where a large sum of money can be obtained for the sale of the building, and a new building outside of the city can be purchased – so that the civil servants in the Department of Foreign Affairs can continue to do their important work (elsewhere).
I know of two such relocations relating to Republic of Ireland embassies, and all appointments for a period of a number of weeks are being systematically cancelled so that the re-location can commence forthwith.
After relocation to new buildings outside of the city centres, the Irish embassies will re-open for work sometime in the Spring.
For the citizens it will be rather like flying RyanAir each time they need consular services : as they will have to travel to the outskirts of the city to meet with representatives.

That is just plain weird. I never knew getting married could be that difficult, it is almost too easy in North America.
I thought it would be hard to get married in Canada because I was just a visitor at the time, marrying a Canadian citizen, but it was very easy.
I hope you find a solution!

Zhu: It´s amazing how difficult is getting married in Ireland so that´s why we´ll marry in Belfast, UK. Crazy isn´t it?
Rafa: SÃ, cuando tengamos todo resuleto iremos a la Embajada y presentaremos una queja por escrito.
Lo de la prensa, lo estamos pensando.
