As now I don’t have more classes to attend or any assignments to submit on a certain date, I’m having my evenings free enough to start new things. One of them is drawing. As I’ve never drawn life models before, I was feeling a little intimidated with the idea of enrolling a class but I found Dr.Sketchy anti-art classes. It’s not the typical class but a cabaret extravaganza where you can draw, drink or both!

You have a model (or sometimes two) doing some quick poses (one, two, five and ten minute pose) and a final long 40 minute pose. Every session is inspired by fairy tales, movies, comic books, etc. The last one that I’ve attended was inspired by Sandman, Neil Gaiman’s beautiful graphic novels, and it was a great fun. For that night, there were two models dressed like Sandman and Delirium. If one of your sketches is chosen by the model as the best one, you can get a tequila shoot or a popcake as a prize.

I do love these anti-art classes and they really made me to draw again. Below you can see a couple of my 10-minute sketches.
