Los própositos que tengo para este año se pueden resumir en uno: “aprovechar el tiempo”. Quiero terminar dos borradores de novela y uno de un poemario. Llevo tiempo buscando mi propia voz y espero estar cada día más cerca de encontrarla. No me refiero sólo a la escritura, sino a muchos aspectos en mi vida. Este 2012 va a ser un año de cambios, algunos me llevarán más tiempo que otros pero ya he empezado.
No hay lugar para la ira sino para el movimiento y ya he dado el primer paso. Veamos a donde me llevan.
This New Year Resolutions can be summarized in just one sentence “Seize the day”. I want to finish two novel’s drafts and one poem book draft. I’ve been searching for my own voice and I hope to be closer to find it. I’m not talking only about writing but many other aspects of my life. This 2012 is going to be full of changes, some of them will take me longer than others but I’ve already started.
There’s no place for anger but for action and I’ve got it started already. Let’s see how it goes.

Lo que he aprendido del NaNoWriMo
1. 50 mil palabras son muchas pero no es una novela entera.
2. La planificación es muy importante en especial para no perderte en la trama. No obstante, si te limitas mucho es fácil quedarte sin argumento a las treinta mil palabras.
3. El NaNoWriMo es una carrera de fondo y es necesario tener disciplina.
4. Habrá días en los que no puedas escribir así que cuenta con ellos los días en los que sí lo hagas.
5. Las primeras mil palabras son las más difíciles.
6. Las últimas diez mil lo son incluso más.
7. Necesito escribir con música y después de la cena es cuando mejor me concentro.
8. He participado muy poco en los foros y no he asistido a las quedadas. El NaNoWriMo ha sido un reto más personal que social aunque me ha ayudado mucho la gente a la que he seguido en Google +.
9. Me parecía un reto más duro de lo que ha sido.
10. Después del NaNoWriMo, hay mucho que trabajar y pulir en el texto.
También he aprendido que es muy fácil centrarse en la trama principal y descuidar las secundarias cuando he escrito de principio a fin. Tengo que buscar un equilibrio entre mi caótica forma de escribir según las escenas y la estructura cronológica de la historia.
Para ser la primera vez que me presento, creo que lo he hecho muy bien pero lo que más me ha sorprendido es lo mucho que he sacado en limpio.
What I’ve learned from NaNoWriMo
1. 50K words are many wrods but it isn’t a completed novel.
2. Planning is the key for not get lost in the plot. However, if you limit yourself too much, it’s easy to get out of plot when you’ve written 30K words.
3. NaNoWriMo is a long distance running and you need to be driven and focused.
4. There will be days where you won’t write down a Word so you have to keep this in mind the days you are writing.
5. The first thousand words are the hardest.
6. The last 10K are even worse!
7. I need to write listening music and the best time for me is after dinner.
8. I’ve not participated in fórum or atended any meeting. NaNoWriMo has been a personal challenge not very social however, I’ve found extremely supporting the people from Google+.
9. NaNoWriMo has been less hard tan I’ve expected.
10. After NaNoWriMo, I need to work a lot on my draft. There are a lot to edit and do!
I’ve also learned that it’s very easy to focus on the main plot and forget about the subplots. I have to find a balance between them when I’m writing from the beginning to the end on a chronologic way because I used to write in a chaotic way jumping between scenes.
Keeping in mind that this was the first time I was taking part on NaNoWriMo, I think I made it very well and what really surprised me is how much I learned from it!

Esta semana ha sido más dura que la anterior aunque ya he pasado de las 20 mil palabras. Lo que me he dado cuenta es que me había centrado demasiado en la trama principal y he descuidado las secundarias. Ahora veo que necesitaría volver atrás y añadir un poco más de información aquí y allá pero creo que eso lo haré una vez que haya terminado el Nano. ¿Cómo lo llevais?
También me he dado cuenta que me cuesta ponerme a escribir pero una vez que empiezo, las palabras salen solas y los personajes hablan más libremente esta semana. Ahora veremos cómo se desarrolla todo durante la tercera semana. Ahora lo que me preocupa es que el argumento se quede corto para las 50 mil palabras. ¿Algún consejo?
This week has been harder than the previous one, I’ve passed the milestone of 20K words though. I’ve realised that I’ve focused too much on the main plot line and I haven’t developped the secoundary ones too much. I think I should go back and include some pieces of information here and there. However, I will do it after the Nano. How is your writing going on?
I also found out very hard to start writing but as soon as I’m doing it, the words come out easlily and the characters speak more fluently during this week. Now let’s see how the third week is going on. My concern now is that maybe my plot is not enough for 50K words. Any advice?

Sólo llevo cinco días con el
NaNoWriMo y el primer día me costó muchisímo ponerme a escribir. Las primeras dos mil palabras han sido duras, torpes y no creo que hayan sido muy acertadas pero no he querido pararme aquí y ahora que llevo unas ocho mil palabras, parece que va siendo más fluido. Estos días han sido como un calentamiento.
¿Qué es lo que más os ha costado al empezar? ¿Qué os está ayudando? En mi caso, el esquema de mi argumento está siendo vital para no perderme. También estoy disfrutando mucho leer a los compañeros del
NaNoWriMo en G+ (porque no me da tiempo a entrar en los foros de la web).
¡Ahora a seguir escribiendo!
Today is the 5th
NaNoWriMo’s day and the fist day was very tough. The first 2K words were hard to write, silly and maybe not the right ones but I didn’t want to stop or quit here. Now, after 8K, it seems easier like if all the words before were just a warming up.
In your cases, what was the hardest part? What is helping you out? For me, my plot scheme is a life-saver that helps me to not get lost. I’m also finding very helpful to read my
NaNoWriMo colleagues in G+ to see how they are doing (to be honest, I’m not having too much for browsing the forum).
Now let’s move my fingers and get some writing done!

Todos tenemos un actor, cantante o artista favorito. Una persona que nos inspira y a la que admiramos incondicionalmente. Supongo que cambia de una persona a otra pero para mí, la honestidad es una de las cualidades que más admiro. Me refiero a cuando un artista se muestra cómo es, con sus debilidades y virtudes. Cuando no tiene miedo de confesar los errores que ha cometido o lo que le carcome por dentro.
A través de su arte plasman lo que sienten, sus terrores más profundos o sus alegrías más intensas haciendo partícipe a la audiencia a la que se dirige. Es como si los héroes de antaño se mostraran vulnerables para ser respetados o más bien, comprendidos.
En mi caso, uno de las personas que más me han inspirado ha sido
Tori Amos y os dejo una
entrevista en la que habla de sus abortos y de cómo hay una luz al final del túnel. También quería dejar una nota respecto a
Blue October, un grupo que he descubierto recientemente y que a través de
entrevistas así, me hacen respectar y admirarles. Espero que os gusten.
¿Y a vosotros qué es lo que os inspira u os hace admirar a un artista?
Everybody has a favourite actor, singer or artist. A person who inspire us or makes us feel admiration. I guess this is different from one person to another but for me, I do value the honesty. I mean when an artist share with us how s/he is showing us his/her weakness and strengths. When s/he dares to confess what mistakes s/he has committed or what kills them inside.
They use their art to show what they’re feeling, their own fears and happiness making us to be part of it. It’s like the old times heroes need to be seen vulnerable to be understood and respected.
In my case, one of this idols is
Tori Amos and I leave this
interview with you where she talks about her miscarriadges and how there is a light at the end of the tunnel. However, I would like to mention a band named
Blue October that I’ve found out recently and with interviews like this
one makes me respect and admire them. I hope you like them.

La última parada del viaje fue Nueva Yok. Es una ciudad impresionante que te hace sentir como si ya la conocieras aunque no nos dio tiempo a salir de Manhattan. Espero volver y que entonces haga mejor tiempo.
Our trip last stop was New York. It’s a stunning city that makes you feel like you already know it; we didn’t have time to go out from Manhattan though. I hope to be back and with a better weather!
